Alec Franks first came to Rancho Sisquoc in 1997 as the
Assistant Winemaker. In 1999 he was promoted to Winemaker.
He received his Fruit Science Degree from Cal Poly San Luis
Obispo. Alec enjoys the hands on creativity that is involved
working with the many different varietals grown on the Ranch.
His winemaking talent has garnered many awards for his
hand-crafted wines. Alec, his wife Stacy, their daughter Juliana,
and son Jonathan reside on Rancho Sisquoc and enjoy the
tranquility and beauty of the Ranch.
Francisco (Juan) Gutierrez has been with Rancho Sisquoc since
1975. He is our vineyard manager, and uses his extensive
knowledge of viticulture to tend to our over 300 acre vineyard.
He lives on the ranch with his wife Petra and their children and
he can often be found taking his family to see the vineyards in
the evenings. Juan’s love of the vineyards shows in our much
sought-after grapes, and in our award winning wines.
Ed and Mary Holt have been living on the ranch since 1977. Ed
began working in vineyards in Missouri in his teens, and his love
of vineyards and agriculture brought him to the ranch, first as a
tractor driver in the vineyard, and today as the Vice President
and General Manager of Rancho Sisquoc. His wife Mary is the
Sales and Office Manager, and together they raised four children
on the ranch.
Sarah Mullins is our Assistant Winemaker
and has been working side by side with
Alec Franks for over four years. She was
raised on the ranch, and took an interest
in the production side of the wine
business during her first crush. She loves
the work she does in the winery, and is
proud to be a part of the ranch she knows
and loves.
Becky Rodriquez is our Tasting Room
Manager. She joined our team in 2005,
and she has been a perfect fit. Customers
find her to be a resource of knowledge on
our wines while adding to the charm of our
small and friendly tasting room.
The Flood family have owned Rancho Sisquoc since 1952 when
Mr. and Mrs. James Flood of San Francisco purchased the
ranch. In the late 1960's, Mr. Flood planted the first vineyards
at the ranch. Today, Mrs. Elizabeth Flood and her family enjoy
the ranch and it's peaceful setting as their home away from
home. Pictured here are two of their children, Judy Wilbur and
Jim Flood at the 2008 Wine Club Day at the Ranch event.
